My First Performance, Auld Lang Syne

Waterloo Bridge

My father told me, I was dancing at the Eastern Sea University music hall to the tune of Auld Lang Syne. That I can't remember. So I guess it was with my aunt for her graduation ceremony. It has a beautiful Chinese translation, Soul Lost in the Blue Bridge. This is from the Chuang Tze's love story about a man Wei Sheng, who refused to leave the site where a vow was made, a flood came to wash him away, and yet he was holding the post to wait for his love. The movie began from Air Raid on Waterloo Bridge. The British film and manners has been imprinted on many Chinese military such as my own father. My aunt majored in foreign languages, and her studies included Shakespeare, and Mansfield. She also studied piano in Nanjing as a little girl. She was in the university's chorus. So my sister and I possibly went on dancing to bid farewell for my aunt's graduation party to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne." This is a Scottish folksong which was recompiled by Robert Burns and made popular to the world. A very good sentiment. We Chinese love this humanity from the English world, as we most still live under the shadow and scar of the Opium War. Thanks for the artists of the English speaking world, which show that other than war, there is humanity.

她比"飄﹐Gone with the Wind" 更愛此角色。
