Town Hall Meeting
I went to see the town hall meeting for our local Congressman.
He is a very likeable person and the meeting was educational. He is friendly and sincere, not overly cocky or slippery.
Although compared to my grandfather, he is a lot less flamboyant; my grandfather was charismatic and a high achiever.
Concerning education, about what is wrong with the No Child Left Behind plan, is that some schools simply have students who are illiterate in English and their test score will flunk these students and drag down the funding for education, this only reinforces the failure rate.
Regarding housing, existing military housing cannot be used for low income housing because it does not satisfy building code, but probably the truth is that local developers would not want it to stifle their profit margin.

So Sweet
Lyrics: Zhuang Nu
Singer: Teresa Teng
Translation: Elizabeth Su
Sweet you laugh so honey sweet
Like flowers opening in the spring wind
Where, tell where, I saw you before
Your smile looks so familiar
I can’t seem to recall
Oh! In my dream
In the dream, I saw you
Your smile is so gently sweet
That is you, is you that is whom I dreamt of
Where where did I see you before?
Your smile looks so very familiar
I just can’t seem to remember
Ah..In the dream.
This song has a surreal feeling. Once you were showing up in my dream. I don’t seem to recall clearly exactly where or when.
Oh! No wonder. Isn’t it in my dream?
A Little Tadpole Swimming to the Future
In the strong light, I was in a gorge in the shade of large rocks.
In a shroud of white foggy light
Like a tadpole
I swim toward the future

I think that Qin Palace and Han exalted palace buildings have all turned into wild grass weeds to be the cows sheep roaming wild
Fishermen and men gathering firewood have nothing to say
They let the wild graves alone mingled with the broken stone tablets
Japan invaders and Communists didn’t dare to touch the Nationalist leader Sun Yat-Sen’s mausoleum
Same pure green mountain and the light water surrounding Qin Huai River
Remember that Yang Zhou road was ablaze with war fire

Southern Soong and Ming Guo were filled with countrymen’s tears of resistance
Old country to travel in my dream
You are so emotional and laugh at me
Chiding to see white hair grown
Life is a dream, so one wine glass to pay tribute to the River moon

30 years just woke up
Yellow sorghum must have been steamed well to eat

The passionate singing of a great concert
Then collective all withdrew
Without a sound
The fell
They disappear
So a little tadpole
I straighten my body
Swaying my tail
Swimming toward the future

Allow Me to Look Toward You 許 我 向 你 看
Allow Me to Look Toward You
Composer: Zhuang Hong
Lyrics: Yan Kuan
Singer: Zhou Xuan, Golden Throat
Translation: Elizabeth Su
Allow me look toward you, Look toward you
One more glance
I pass so many lonely springs
Today it is you accompanying me by my side
Allow me to look toward you, Look toward you
One more glance
I keep hard at a same conviction
Today you are returning in front of me
Your look still the same as before
My pain is filled all over my heart field
You are not revealing one word
I can only take more look at you
Allow me to look toward you, Look toward you
One more glance
I pass so many lonely springs
Today it is you accompanying me by my side

By the River of Soochow, Shanghai
By the River of Soochow, Shanghai
The night leaves a place of quiet isolation
By the river side, don’t see one human shadow
I link your arm, you link my arm
In the dark street we are walking back and forth
The night leaves a place of quiet isolation
By the river side just see two of us
The stars are smiling
The wind is envious
It gently blows up the corner of my clothes
We are walking, walking and lost our direction
Only linger aimlessly in the dark river bank
Don’t know if the world deserts us
Or we forget the world
The night leaves a place of quiet isolation
The world only just two of us
I look at you
You look at me
Thousand of words become speechless

Four Wishes
Four Wishes
By late popular star Teresa Teng
Translated to English by Elizabeth Su
If I want to love someone, I have four wishes
When I find a lover, I have four wishes
The first wish is to give me a rose
Second one is to pluck a shining star
Third to accompany me to go up to hill to look at the moon
Fourth is to be with me on the beach
Walking on the sand hand in hand
If you can listen to my wishes
I’ll never forget
Enamored with you
Forever by your side
If I want to love
I have some wishes
When I find someone to love
I got four wishes
The first is to tell me you love me for very long
The second is to understand me please
The third to have sweet words at my ears
Fourth is to have patience next to me
From morning till night
If you can listen to my wishes
I’ll never forget
To love you with real heart
Forever by your side

Art Show of Chinese American Artists
We had a very pleasant day at Central Computer Building in Santa Clara courtesy of Mr. Saul Yeung with a symposium of art forum, and display of paintings.
It was such a joyful day to be with the artists and high tech business leaders. Many professors’ comments are like pearls of wisdom.
Mr. Yeung mentioned that Venice was a great seaport and the commerce there supported art.
When I traveled to Florence, I could understand that as the Medici family supported artists and helped to create Renaissance, Florence became a center of art, this is a very good topic and location to discuss about technology and art in Silicon Valley.
Some of them are my good friends, and I took lessons together with them, though my ideals have not been put to canvas just yet.
Perhaps in a little while, I will display my works.
